For nearly 12 years, Mikey Davis was part of the Community Works Consulting story, a steady, caring presence behind the scenes who helped make everything else possible.

Mikey came into Carol Hass's life more than 20 years ago as a friend, and into CWC as our accountant when Carol asked him to help manage the organization's finances as it grew. He brought not just expertise but genuine care, the kind that shows up in small, consistent ways over the years. He set a standard for financial stewardship so high that our tax preparer recognized it annually with a discount, a quiet testament to the diligence he brought to everything he did.

Mikey often shared how proud he was of the work our team does for the organizations we serve, and how much it meant to him to play a part in that mission. That pride was mutual, and it's a big part of why we wanted to honor him here.

Beyond CWC, Mikey lived a full and generous life in Long Beach, the city he came to call home after growing up in Minnesota. He found and built community there, especially within Long Beach's LGBT community. He held leadership roles in Long Beach Pride and volunteered countless hours for organizations ranging from Floyd's and the LA Gay Rodeo to the Long Beach AIDS Walk and the Historical Society of Long Beach. As a bookkeeper, he lent that same care to the many organizations he supported.

We are grateful for the years Mikey gave to Community Works Consulting, and to the causes we serve together. His steady presence, and his spirit, will always be part of who we are.
