With more than 25 years of experience in philanthropy and nonprofit management, Jim’s career started in the corporate sector leading community engagement programs for Sony Pictures Entertainment and The Boeing Company. He was a program officer for California Community Foundation and Annenberg Foundation. Currently he serves as the director of the National Center for the Preservation of Democracy at the Japanese American National Museum. Jim works with CWC on special projects and serves as one of CWC’s reviewers, providing review and editing support to Grant Leads. 

Jim holds degrees from Temple University and an MBA from Loyola Marymount University. He was selected as a Leadership Southern California Fellow, America’s Leaders of Change Fellow through National Urban Fellows, and participated as a GCS Leadership and Visitation Exchange Fellow in South Korea. He has served on various nonprofit boards and commissions throughout the region. He lives in the Little Tokyo neighborhood of Downtown Los Angeles with his rescue dog Betty.
